My Story

I grew up as a competitive figure skater, spending much of my childhood training both on and off the ice. Those early years taught me the value of discipline, dedication, and the deep connection between body and mind. After stepping away from skating due to injury, I discovered a new appreciation for rest, recovery, and the importance of listening to the body’s signals. My skating injuries became teachers as did all the injuries and accidents that followed. By the age of 19, it was clear that I was not destined to sit in a university for the next 4 years, I wanted to learn more about this remarkable human body. I wanted to study something tangible, something that would allow me to work with people and make a real difference.

In 2015, I enrolled at the Vancouver School of Bodywork & Massage (now the Vancouver School of Healing Arts) and became a Certified Spa Therapist. I loved helping people feel better through massage, but over time my own wrist pain made it clear that I couldn’t sustain the physical demands of the job long-term. Regular acupuncture treatments allowed me to continue working for as long as I did, and I was amazed by how effective they were. That experience inspired me to study Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC.

I quickly fell in love with the philosophy behind Chinese Medicine: the belief that true health is the result of balance. The body is viewed as an interconnected system of pathways, much like rivers and streams flowing through a landscape. When energy, blood, and fluids move freely through these “waterways,” the body functions in harmony. But just as rivers can become blocked or dry up, our internal flow can be disrupted by stress, injury, emotions, or lifestyle factors.

Acupuncture works as a gentle intervention that helps restore that natural movement. If there’s a “dam” (an area of tension, pain, or stagnation) a needle can help open the flow and release the buildup. If there’s flooding (inflammation, swelling, or excess) acupuncture can redirect and disperse it. And when there’s drought (depletion, fatigue, or dryness) the wisdom of Chinese Medicine offers ways to nourish and replenish through acupuncture, herbal support, movement, diet, and lifestyle.

What I love about this system is that it sees the body as an ecosystem: dynamic, resilient, and capable of returning to balance when given the right support. This way of seeing health changed how I understood my own body and inspired how I approach every client I work with.

In 2021, I became a Registered Acupuncturist. With my background in sports and massage, I naturally gravitated toward treating pain and injury recovery. I’ve continued to study Sports Medicine Acupuncture with teachers like Matt Callison and Anthony Lombardi, and I use electro-acupuncture and other evidence-informed techniques to help clients recover faster and more fully. My goal is to bridge Eastern and Western perspectives by combining ancient wisdom with modern research to create the most effective, individualized care possible.

That is why I am here, and why I love doing what I do. Acupuncture continues to be my chosen way to care for my own body and nervous system. I’m continually amazed by how this medicine helps the body, mind, and spirit find their natural rhythm again. What I love most is its simplicity and versatility — whether you’re healing from an injury, managing chronic pain, or navigating stress, hormonal shifts, or emotional challenges, acupuncture offers a gentle yet powerful path back to balance.

If you feel ready to reconnect with your body and begin your own healing journey, I would be honored to work with you. Together, we can create a treatment plan that supports your goals and helps you return to a state of ease, strength, and balance.
